Mitchell 21, St. Mary's 20 -  The Mitchell Bats Outpowered St. Mary's
The Fuller Tool Sales Minor Rookie Team Harris won a nail-biter in this 21-20 victory over St. Mary's. It was a back-and-forth kind of game until the Astros pulled out some last-inning heroics.

The bats once again were mighty for Team Harris. Carter Harris went 4-4 with 2 hits off the machine, scoring 3 times, while Seth Brown hit 3-3 off the machine, scoring one run. Elyn Hannon made her season debut behind the plate and showed her grit with an MLB-style slide into 2nd base, beating the throw and eventually scoring.

Lincoln Vandervelde stayed on track, going 3-3 on the night, with 1 hit off the machine, scoring once, and Kayla Visneskie also hit every time, all off the machine, smoking the 1st pitch in the 3rd for a solid single.

Reegan Vessie showed his speed, narrowly missing an out at home plate. He also hit at each at-bat, scoring all 3 times. Max Brodhagen went 2-3 off the machine, scoring once. Carson Lubbers continues to own the machine, going 3-3, and he contributed 3 of the first 4 outs of the game.

Lincoln Laverty was another member of our team of sluggers who went 4-4 on this evening, as well as showing his excellent defensive play on the mound and behind the plate. Sean Gibbings, batting 1000, had two great plays at 2nd, the latter being the crucial out that made the difference in this game.

Our next game is the Throw, Hit, and Run competition on Wednesday against the other two Mitchell Minor Rookie teams before the tournament on the weekend. Let's go have some fun!
